New Barca president Joan Laporta knows that he will be closer to his goal of convin’cing Messi to sign a contr’act ren’ewal if he can bring in the Braz’ilian.

It may be remem’bered that Messi’s dissatisf’action with the club became evident when Neymar was allowed to leave and all efforts to sign him back remain’ed futile un’til now.

While Neymar had previ’ously shown inter’est in return’ing to the Camp Nou, Marca clai’ms that PSG is not inter’ested in any of’fers from anyone inclu’ding the Brazilian’s former emp’loyers.

Neymar wa’nts to be reun’ited with Lionel Messi, but he has also been open to the possi’bility of making that hap’pen at the Parc des Princes inst’ead of at the Camp Nou.

Fellow PSG stars Kyian Mb’appe and Angel di Maria have also been voc’al about wanting to play alon’gside the Arge’ntine.

The fact of the matter is, PSG can well aff’ord to have all of those big names and their corres’ponding paych’ecks on their list of expendit’ures for the com’ing season. Barca on the other hand, are not anywhere near finan’cially stable.

PSG is not inter’ested in selling Neymar, and it is unli’kely that Barcelona can offer an amount that the club nor the player can refuse.

PSG is wor’king on extending Neymar’s current con’tract which runs until 2022.

Mean’while, the Barca board is still busy trying to untangle themselves from the fina’ncial mess that they inherit’ed, and they will need to act fast if they want to keep Lionel Messi and bring in more big names.

The only upsi’de is that their perfo’rmance on the pitch has improv’ed, and they are still in contentio’n for the La Liga title.
