Cristiano Ronaldo could leave if Manchester United don’t reach Champions League
Ronaldo made a fairy’tale return to Manchester United in the summer, 12 years after lea’ving the club, but the lo’ng-awa’ited reunion m’ay not last for as long as most Red Dev’ils fans hoped.
Manchester Un’ited are currently in a crisis, wi’th poor displays and results whic’h have all but ruled them out of t’he Premier League title race, leav’ing Ronaldo concern’ed. Failure to finish in the Premier League t’op four, and thus missing out on Cha’mpions League football in 2022/23, would likely see Ronal’do pus’h for another move.
According to the Express, Ronaldo co’uld force an exit in the coming summer shoul’d the team’s fortunes not cha’nge.
The Portugu’ese forward has an insatiable desi’re for sil’verware, both individual and collective, and is in no mood to re’main at a club whose expecta’tions and capabilitie&s are not at the same level as his ow’n.
Ronaldo, in a recent inter’view, made it clear that he d’id not return to the Premi’er League simply to see out& the remaining years of his car’eer.
“I said what I felt’ in that moment, that I’m here to win things,” he told Sky Sports, about his speech upon arriving at Unite’d in the su’mmer.
“Manchester Uni’ted is a sign of winning thi’ngs and I’m not here for holidays.
“I said to them I see h’uge potential in this team. They ha’ve very young players, play’ers with potential, and I’m’ here to win and to help the team to b’uild new stuff.”
