Manchester United insist  Ronald’o is not for sale despite the forwa”rd asking to leave the club this summer. With at least o’ne year remaining on his contract, Sky S’ports looks at the reasons for and against ‘his potential departure.

Speaking at the beginning of June’, Ronaldo said he was “very happy” to ‘remain at United and predicted they w’ould rebound from a dreadful 2021/22 sea’son.

But just one month later, the P’ortugal captain has had a change ‘of heart and wants to leave Old Trafford amid concerns over trophies and transfers. Unit’ed insist he is not for sale.

The 37-year-old returned to Ma’nc’hester last summer – 12 years after origin’ally leaving for Real Madrid – and ‘netted 24 goals in 38 games to finish as the club’s top scorer in all competiti’ons.

 

But while it was a strong campaig’n in front of goal for Ronaldo, it was a d’isastrous one for the team. United finished sixth’ in the Premier League and failed to l’ift a trophy for a fifth consecutive seaso’n.
