Lionel Messi has been discu’ssing PSG’s chances of Champ’ions League success w’hile asse’ssing the credent’ials of Liv’erpool and other European si’des.
Lionel Messi has n’amed Liverpool as one of the candida&tes to win the Champions Le’ague this season while acknowledg’ing that ‘not always the best team w”ins’.
From the moment his su’mmer switch to Paris Sa’int-Germain was completed, Mau’ricio Pochettino’s side were list’ed as the firm favourites to go all the wa’y in Europe’s elite compe’tition.
PSG have reached both the fin’al and semi-final of the Cham”pions League in the past 2 campaigns and will certainly fan’cy their chances of finally gett’ing their hands on the tro’phy with an attacking trio of Me’ssi, Kylian Mbappe and Ney’mar at their disposal.
Fully aware that the Fren’ch side are one of the ‘main ca’ndidates’ to taste success in the com’petition, Messi conceded that t’eams such as Liverpool and Ma’nchester City have an added advan”tage due to the amount of time spent working together as a gr’oup.
“I think it is my big’gest target, and the club’s,” the Arge’ntine star told beIN Sports wh’en discussing the prospect of winni’ng the Champions ‘ League.
They [PSG] have been look’ing to win the Champions Leagu’e and have been very clo’se. We are one of the main cand’idates, but not the only one.
“Everyone is talking ab’out PSG because of the player’s, but other clubs have been wo’rking together for years and have sign’ed good players, like Manches’ter United, Man City, Bayern Mu’nich, Liverpool, Atletico or C’helsea.
“There are plenty of clu”bs who can win the Champions’ League,” added Messi.
