Ronaldo reacts to Sunday’s Liverpool defeat

Cristiano Ronaldo has th’anked the Manchester United fans for the defiant sup’port that was shown duri’ng Su’nday’’s chaste’ning defeat to L’iverpool at Old Trafford.

The Reds suffere’d a painful 5-0 defea:t to Jur:gen Klopp’s Merse:ysi:ders on what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has desc:ribed as his darkest: day in manag:ement.

Rona:ldo thou:ght: he ha:d pulled a goal back in th:e 53rd minute when he finis:hed into th:e bottom corner of Liverpool’s net, but it was ruled out after an interve:ntion by t:he Video Assi:stant Re:feree mome’nts later.

Matters wer’e made wo’rse wh’en subs’titute Paul Pogba was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Naby Keita, follo’wing ano’ther VAR consult’ation, much to th’e delight to the aw’ay end.

It was a difficult expe’rience for our fans, but those ins’ide the stadium kept on suppo’rting the team and, if anything, the ‘noise levels only grew as the minu’tes tick’ed by.

Our match-goi’ng fa’ns always get behind the te’am, no m’atter the circumstances, and that su’pport has alr’eady been ackn’owledged by Ole Gunnar SolskjaerHarry Maguire and Luke Shaw.

In a Instag’ram post late on Su’nday night, Rona’ldo shared this message with our f’ans:

“Someti’mes the res’ult is the not the 1 we fight for. Sometimes the score is not the one we want.

And thi’s is on us, only on us, because there’s n’o 1 else to blame. Our fans were, once again, amaz’ing in their constant sup’port.

“Th’ey des’erve bett’er than ‘this, muc’h bett’er, and it’s up to us to deliver. The ti’me is no’w!”

United now have a ‘matchless midweek before travelling to the Totten’ham Hotspur Stadium in the’ Premier League on Saturday, when the Reds h’ave an opp’ortunity to bounce back.
