‘The rate against Real has crushed PSG’
PSG is not getting results even after putting a star hat on the team to fulfill the dream of winning the elusive Champions League. Real Madrid has sent them off this season with a great turn in the last 16 of the current season. Marco Verratti, the midfielder of the Paris team, still can’t forget that wound. According to him, that rate was a big blow for them.
PSG Real, which was leading 1-0 in the first leg on the stage of the best in Europe, also had a great rhythm in the return leg. At one stage they were leading 2-0 in the fight.
Then Karim Benzema shattered PSG’s dream in a storm of 17 minutes. Real reached the quarter-finals with a hat-trick of 3-2 goals with two legs. They later lost to Chelsea and Manchester City and advanced to the final, where their opponent is Liverpool.
Despite failing in the Champions League, PSG has already won the League One title. However, the resh of the loss against Real seems to be still in their game. The team is unbeaten in the last three matches of the league.
After a 2-2 draw in last Sunday’s match against Toya, Veratti revealed their reality. Italy’s Euro-winning star told Amazon Prime Video that it took them a while to get together as a team.
“We’ve been through a lot of adversity this year (season), though it was tough. I think we were able to practice only three times together in the first six months. ”
“The first six months were very difficult, starting with the international break and the players joining the team late. I think that’s when we started doing better. ”
The pain of losing against Real is still haunting Veratti. Earlier, the 29-year-old voiced frustration over his departure from the Champions League.
“We did well against Real Madrid. I think that match (second leg) has crushed fans like us. In the end, we won the league, which is never easy. But our dream was to go further in the Champions League. ”
“In the quarter-finals, in the semi-finals, the little things make a difference and if you play two good matches you can find yourself in the final. (Real) Madrid has really hit us hard. “
