Croatia scored the first goal in the 17th minute. Yocep’s cross from the right is extended to Ivan Perisic’s head pass in front of Nikola Vlasic. The 23-year-old midfielder sent the ball into the net with a left foot shot.

Madrid scored the oldest goal for Croatia in the Euros (35 years and 286 days). He is also the country’s youngest goal scorer in the tournament, having netted against Austria in 2008 at the age of 22 years and 73 days.

Madrich also contributed to the next goal in the 77th minute. Perisic jumped to his corner and hit the head post. In the end, the runners-up of the last World Cup won the festival by keeping the gap.


Croatia will face Group E runners-up next Monday in a bid to reach the quarter-finals. Opponents of the Czech Republic are also not right now.
