How to make a concrete screed yourself

Before you start making a screed, you need to determine the zero level. This will need a laser or water level. First put the first mark, and then, using the level, the tags are transferred to each wall. All obtained points are connected with a horizontal line. It is important to remember that the measuring devices that you use determine the level of the floor screed relative to the horizon, and not relative to the floor. The thickness of the screed should not be less than three centimeters. The screed is made by lighthouses. There are several options for installing beacons-the use of metal profiles, cement-concrete beacons or special factory beacons. What to use beacons is a matter of taste, the main thing is to fix the beacons well. It is advisable to install beacons at a short distance from each other.

Prepare the solution. Sand is interfered with cement (usually in a ratio of 1: 3). Before that, the sand must be sifted. Next, add water, continuing to mix the solution. Stones, lumps and other impurities in the solution should not be.

The solution is poured with stripes 1-1.5 meters wide, to the height of the installed beacons. Then, using the rule, form a smooth surface of the screed. It is advisable to use a small rule – 1.5 meters. The beacons are removed after a day, the remaining traces of them are wiped with a fresh solution.
