The history of pipes that are used in everyday life in sewage, water supply and heating, it has more than one hundred years.
And although many and many decades have been used everywhere, they are not devoid of a number of shortcomings. Such pipes have a fairly large weight, which complicates their installation. In addition, the rough structure of the metal has hydraulic resistance. And, of course, another significant drawback of metal pipes is their corrosion, as well as overgrowing by deposits.
Currently, plastic pipes, and then pipe from polypropylene, were currently replaced by metallic. To date, polypropylene pipes are preferred more and more owners of private houses and cottages who use them to lay various communications. They were widely used on highways, where transportation of various environments is needed over long distances.
The irreplaceable quality of polypropylene is its high chemical resistance to more than 300 chemicals, as well as solutions. It is this property that allows you to use it in many aggressive environments, for example, with a high content of acid or alkali. Polypropylene pipes and fittings have another very important quality. During operation, such pipes are not corroded, and also do not clog throughout the entire period of use, so the plumbing in an apartment or house can also be operated for a long period of time.
In addition to corrosion resistance, polypropylene pipes and fittings are resistant to both low and high temperatures. So, when freezing fluid in the pipes, no destruction occurs with them. High temperature resistance allows the use of PPRC – pipes and fittings in heating systems.
Polypropylene pipes are mounted by welding. A special welding machine warms up the pipe and connecting coupling, and after that the pipes are simply interconnected. This connection is durable and reliable. Leaks in the case of such a connection are completely excluded. Another undoubted advantage of such pipes is their low noise level.
It is also worth noting the durability of the use of pipeline systems from polypropylene pipes. Such pipelines can be operated for 50 years, if used for cold water supply, and about 25 years, in case of installation of polypropylene pipes for hot water supply. Reinforced polypropylene pipes have an even longer service life, over 50 years.
Polypropylene pipes are divided into two types (GOST 18599-2001):
Polypropylene pipe PPR-C;
Polypropylene pipe with aluminum reinforcement PPR-C Al and W PPR-C Al.
Polypropylene fittings are divided into the following types (GOST 356-80):
Americans;
Ball valves;
Plugs;
The couplings and couplings are transitional;
The couplings are detachable;
Contours;
Adapters;
Tees;
Wall corners (for connecting mixers);
Corners (45, 90 grams.);
Fasteners (wall and floor).
Equipment for the adhesion of polypropylene pipes and fittings for them (the moment of adhesion from 20-40 mm).
Pumping equipment (reduction, submersible, circulation pumps), phyrteral equipment (grid filters, rubles, filters for cleaning water for drinking).
